As we reported earlier this year Jane Shepherdson - the fashion fairy godmother who transformed Topshop into the go-to brand for, well just about anything you wanted in your wardrobe - has taken over Whistles, and this season is her first at the helm of the high street brand.
Shepherdson and her team, including design director Nick Passmore, have decided it's time for Whistles to up the fashion ante, and have created a stylish, fashion conscious collection which they describe as, ' just the things everyone wants in their wardrobe now' - and they are.
Think the perfect ankle grazing cropped trousers in black, wool tweed and, our favourite, a raw silk tuxedo pair that will be your new night-out staple for the party season; super soft cashmere knits in boy-ish cuts and some of the best new coats on the high street (we're waiting patiently for the tartan cocoon coat to hit in September!)

Shepherdson describes the new look as a 'boutique led collection,' and there are also some real vintage and designer touches, like the darted waist of the crepe, one-shoulder cocktail dress (pictured) that had us thinking it came straight from a vintage store and the circle hem Little Black Dress that could have held it's own on the catwalk
The new team will be holding on to some of Whistles past heritage by continuing to stock a collection of bought-in brands, including Velvet and Michael Stars, as well as adding some new jewellery designers to the mix, Alex Monroe, Jacey Withers and Made.
